William “Doyle” Bingham of South Haven (Geneva Twp.) passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020 at his home surrounded by his children. He was born March 14, 1933 to Willie B. and Carry Flournoy (Buchanan) Bingham in Tupelo, Miss. Doyle graduated from South Haven High School in 1952. Joanne Sollman and Doyle were united in marriage by Rev. Tenhoppen in South Haven on April 12, 1952. They shared 55 years together before Joanne passed away in 2008. Doyle worked in the tool and die trades, most recently for Wollin Products in Stevensville, MI, with other periods spent at S.E. Overton’s, Duwell, Bohn Aluminum, all in South Haven, and Star Stamping in Benton Harbor, MI. He was a member of the First Congregational Church, UCC in South Haven, and served as the food pantry leader for many years. Doyle enjoyed spending time with family and friends, as well as hunting, fishing, golf, travel, and visiting casinos.
He is preceded in death by his parents, as well as Joanne Bingham (wife), Donald Gene Bingham (brother), LaVerne Radseck and Flora Garner (sisters).
Doyle is survived by his children: Peter Michael Bingham of South Haven, Elizabeth A. Enge of Brooklyn Park, MN, Timothy Bingham (Jinling) of South Haven, and Beverly (Lee) Mealer of South Haven, sisters: Robinette Dykstra (South Haven), Frances Dailey (South Haven), Linda Napier (Benton Harbor), and Mary Lou Keen (South Haven), grandchildren: Keith (Heidi) Enge, Kevin Enge, Christopher Mealer, Darren Mealer, Jennifer (Shaun) Carter, great-grandchildren: JT Biggers, Adrianna, Blake, and Trinity Mealer, Hanna and Conner Enge, and Emilio and Jasmine Carter, and many nieces and nephews.
A small gathering of friends and family will take place on November 28 at 10:00am at the First Congregational Church, UCC in South Haven, and a memorial service at 11:00am with Pastor Jeffrey Dick officiating. Burial services will follow at a later date when Doyle will be laid to rest in North Shore Memory Gardens in Hagar Shores.
