Heather Yelding Plochocki 43, of South Haven, MI passed away peacefully at the home of her parents surrounded by her loving family after a valiant two year fight with breast cancer. She rests now in the arms of Jesus pain free and whole.

Heather was born on May 10, 1974 at South Haven Hospital to Reuben and Jan Yelding. She grew up in South Haven and was always actively involved in sports. She graduated from South Haven High School in 1992 and went on to earn her Associates Degree in Travel and Tourism from Davenport College. After choosing not to pursue a career in that field, she went on to Lake Michigan College to become a nurse. During her career as a nurse she worked in Obstetrics at Lakeland Hospital in St Joseph and at South Haven Family Physicians. Heather became a member of First United Methodist Church of South Haven as a youth and later attended First Congregation Church of South Haven with her husband Todd.

Her children Samantha and Collin were her heart and soul. She became both mother and father to them when their father died in a car accident in April, 2006.

Heather was learning to golf just before her cancer diagnosis and became an avid golfer in no time at all. It became one of her passions along with walking the beach and collecting beach glass. She also had a love for music and enjoyed going to concerts with her family. Anytime family got together Heather was the first one to want to play games, but nothing compared to her love of watching her children at their sporting events.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Reuben and Alma Yelding, Joseph and Eva Anthony, father of her children Jason Raczynski, and Uncle Joe Anthony, Jr.

Left to cherish her memories are her parents, husband Todd, children: Samantha Price and Collin Raczynski, step-children: Tanner and Sydney Plochocki, sister Tracy Sarno and brother Ryan (Autumn) Yelding, grandmother Betty Anthony, Godchild and nephew Tyler Weber, nieces and nephews: Kasi, Katelyn and Donovan Sarno, Roderic and Mikey Yelding, and Landon Sutherland. Aunts and Uncles: John Yelding, Josephine Hensley, Jim (Cathy) Anthony, Sue Anthony and Kay Nelson.

She will always be remembered by her fun loving spirit, beautiful smile and her tenacity for life.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at the First Congregational Church UCC in South Haven with Rev. Jeffrey S. Dick officiating. Heather will be laid to rest in Lakeview Cemetery in South Haven.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to a College fund for her son Collin.
