Elizabeth “Betty” Marie Wroblewski, 81, of Glenn Shores, formerly of Chicago, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018 at her home under hospice care with her family by her side. She was born July 8, 1937 to Frank and Leona (Dondzila) Babinski in Chicago, Illinois. She married Jerome “Jerry” Wroblewski on October 12, 1957 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Chicago, Illinois. Betty graduated from St. Bernard’s Nursing Program in 1957 and worked as a registered nurse, but she took her role as a mother first. She enjoyed quilting, antiquing, and cooking. She was especially fond of her traditional Polish recipes.
Betty is survived by her husband of more than 60 years – Jerry Wroblewski of Glenn Shores, children – Celeste (Leslie Orenstein) Wroblewski, Roberta Wroblewski Brenza, and Gregory Wroblewski, all of Chicago, Illinois, as well as grandsons – Eli, Xavier, and Gabriel, whom she treasured most dearly. She will be greatly missed, especially for her loving sense of humor.
Betty will be laid to rest at McDowell Cemetery in Casco Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Betty’s memory to the Haiti Medical Education Project at HMEProject.org.
