Pastor Maurice LeRoy Jones, 54, of South Haven died Tuesday, January 12 at Heartland in Kalamazoo.
He was born October 18, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois to Willie and Juanita (Langston) Jones. Maurice married Gwendolyn Wade on July 21, 1979 in Covert, Michigan.
Maurice was the Pastor of the New Jerusalem Church in Bangor.
He is preceded in death by his father – Willie Jones who died in 2009.
He is survived by his wife – Gwendolyn Jones of South Haven, MI. Children – Bethany Trimaine Jones of Elkhart, Indiana, Kevin Charles Lee Jones of Ft. Cambell, Kentucky, Shytella Jones, Jessica Johnson and Antria Donald. Mother – Juanita Jones of Covert, Michigan. 6 grandchildren – Keturah Jones, Janaiah Harris, Za’Keiya Harris, Ke’Vion Maurice Jones, KanYe’ Jones, and Keemarious Jones. Two brothers– Corneilious Langston of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Michael (Barbara) Jones of Zeeland, Michigan.
Wake will be Monday, January 18 from 11 – 12 at the First Baptist Church in Covert. Funeral services will begin Monday at 12:00 P.M. at the church with Rev. Adrian Massenburg officiating.
