Cornelia Yon Tymke, 67, of South Haven, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018 at her home. She was born October 11, 1950 to Edward and Barbara (Konkle) Tymke in South Haven. Cornelia graduated from Hartford High School before earning her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Western Michigan University. She taught Family Living for Berrien Springs High School for 28 years before her retirement. Quilting and reading were Cornelia’s passions. She was the owner of Calico Creations for the past thirty years.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by siblings – Edward J. Tymke and Veda Tymke.
Cornelia is survived by her children – Joe (Denise) Miller of South Haven and Jason (Lori) Miller of Las Vegas, sister – Pam (Jim) Fisher of South Haven, granddaughter – Emilie, and nephews – Jacob (Maureen) Fisher and Matthew (Hillary) Fisher.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home in South Haven. Funeral services will follow visitation at 2:00 PM with Pastor Jeffrey S. Dick officiating at the funeral home. Cornelia will be laid to rest at Mountain Home Cemetery in Otsego Township at a later date.
